in “these times of change”
We are a changin’
Adaptation
Flexibility
Agility
Strength
Of mind
Of body
We embody
A digital shift
A life of augmentation
Look around…
Intelligence abound
In all things
Everywhere
At all times
Recorded…
To be replayed
And understood
Through memory
Through mind
Be kind
Rewind
The world is what we make it
Project positivity
Don’t fake it
Be real
Be you
Be alive
And strive
To thrive
In a world that is ever-changing
Always and forever
For eternity
Life is but a dream
And we all dreamers
Projecting our gifts into this world
A holographic display
Of all that is beautiful
Nightmares are distortions
Animalistic projections of fear
Life is change
Forever and always
Open your eyes and see.

The Mirror of Life
Life is a mirror, clear and bright,
Reflecting all within your sight.
Do you reflect the gentle light,
Or let the darkness take its flight?
In every face, in every glance,
It shows the depths, the shifting dance,
Of joy and pain, of love and strife
This mirror holds the breath of life.
Do you reflect the warmth of grace,
Or shadowed fears you cannot face?
What do you show the world, and why
Is it the truth, or just a lie?
For every heart you gaze upon,
The mirror’s light is never gone.
It shows them who they really are,
A spark, a dream, a distant star.
But what of you, when all is still?
Do you reflect the strength of will,
To see your faults, to love your flaws,
To greet your beauty with applause?
This mirror knows both love and hate,
But guides you toward the brighter fate.
Reflect the light, and let it grow,
For what you give is what you show.Original poem by David Kausek 2024

Self Haunting

A ghost is not a sheet of cold air
not a footstep in the hall
It is a thought that learned the shape of yesterday
and refuses to leave the room
It lives in the replay
the moment pressed flat by memory
looped until it forgets it has ended
looped until the body believes it is still happening
These ghosts do not rattle chains
they repeat sentences
they ask the same questions
they knock from the inside of the mind
They are feelings that never finished speaking
grief that missed its exit
love that stayed after the house burned down
fear that memorized the floor plan of the past
A self becomes haunted
when attention moves backward
when breath is borrowed by what no longer breathes
when now is ignored like an unopened letter
The ghost has no power in the present
it survives only on recall
a pattern fed by belief
a phantom stitched together from remembering
To meet the moment
is to turn on the light
not to banish the ghost
but to see it clearly
And when seen
it thins
it softens
it remembers that it was never alive
What remains
is the quiet room of now
where nothing needs to repeat itself
to be realOriginal poem by David Kausek 2026

Sequoia
The silence of the forest
is alive and connected
transmissions moving through
fungal networks
Standing as witness
to the many footsteps of sentient beings
to songs carried by smoke
to time embedded in soil
there is knowledge in the land
temporality recorded through changing forms
Time moves like a river with dimension
faces shift their expressions
names fall away through lived experience
villages rise and dissolve
yet the trees remain in place
listening to the collective of what passes
Elements move as energy shaping form
bark and root
resting in shadow
nothing separate from the land
matter becoming presence
light dancing with the spirit of time
komorebi
Fire arrives as both destroyer and cleanser
a living force with intention
testing what is fragile
renewing what endures
leaving marks that become memory
etched into the skin of the tree
The forest does not alter time
it is the patient sum of slow change
poems of the unseen
written into rings
life measured through endurance
as time reshapes the forest
Storms rise as anger and noise
rain speaking with urgency
wind bending limbs toward surrender
until even chaos remembers
how to return to quiet
Peace lives at the center
the unseen remains
present
yet invisible
observing stillness
between heartbeats
Life transmits outward toward space
as vision
ethereal signs of something sacred
a silent dream shared
by earth and its inhabitants
who remembers ancient wisdomOriginal poem by David Kausek 2026
