The Second Season

In the waking of Spring
I am child laughing at the “sun”

New seeds rise from “Earth”
Reaching towards the “sky”

Energy bursting forward
Traversing the bridge of annihilation

The renewal of rain
Unleashing the earthy fragrance of fungi

A rainbow of colors emerge
Vibrant reds, greens, yellows, pinks, blues

New smells awaken this stale “air”
Microscopic particles entering one’s body

In a hurried rush to live,
Birds sing their melodies

A cosmic egg
Manifesting physical dimensions of life

Mystical experiences
Entertaining abstraction of reality

Peering into the nature of atoms
An attempt to transcend the mundane

Metaphorical observations of the metaphysical
Allegorical symbols birthing science

The spirit of breathe
Caressing trees

Clear springs sculpting terra firma
Tears of heaven washing away the chaos

Time marches forward
As grief lags behind

The dichotomy of “being”
Now and then

As above
So below

Life flows through everything
Tools are necessary to perceive

Religion
Science

What is a life?
Scientific data collected upon entry and exit?

Biological info condensed to numeric values?
An entire “being” summed up via stats?

Life is a journey
All growth comes through change

Nothing lasts forever
Nothing stays the same

An old man passing through the woods
Walking above the presence of death

Countless lifeforms have come before him
Countless lifeforms will come after him

The ancient cycles cannot be altered
No physical monument can sustain time

All things are left unfinished
All things are incomplete

The process of birth
Inevitably leads to the process of death

We are but visitors
Observing the great mysteries

Spirit
Eternal
